What You'll Learn

Front-End Development: From Design to Implementation

In this full-day workshop, you’ll learn how to plan, design, optimize, build and add interaction to your front-end templates using the latest proven web standards techniques and time-saving tips for production in the real-world.

Basic knowledge of XHTML & CSS, and either Photoshop or Fireworks will help you get the most out of your day (bring your laptop to follow along with the examples).

9:15am – 10:30am	Planning & Designing Your Interface You have a concept and a feature list, now what? Bryan helps you organize and label your content, and teaches you to find zen in the most subtle details.	Bryan Veloso
10:30am – 10:45am	Mid-Morning Break A quick pause between sessions—just enough time to grab some coffee and check your email.
10:45am – 12:00pm	Slicing & Dicing: Exporting & Optimizing Images Now that you have your design, Dan teaches you to translate your carefully crafted layers into creatively flattened rectangles, and how to pick the best image type and compression to achieve the right balance of good looks and slim file sizes. 12:00pm – 1:15pm	Lunch Lunch will be catered in. This is a time to refuel, and get to know the other attendees and the speakers.
